YAHOO News.......a day in the life of a lie

Years ago, when Clinton won his first term in the White House, I was an AOL user….dial up modem, the full nine yards, screaming along at about one baud per day.  Social media was in its’ infant stages and your average person had no idea about what the internet would be able to deliver in content.  Like most people I got the news from written, television and radio media.  I think Matt Drudge changed all of that when he developed the Drudge Report during the Lewinsky scandal.  And it was with the Drudge Report, then talk radio that was an actual alternative to NPR (which IS your tax dollar at work and was pervasive AND invasive at the time.  I was in western Kansas enroute to Colorado once and could only pick up local farm radio at 0300….but I could find an NPR station with NO problem), and FOXNews that was a true counter part and briefly a competitor before leaving MSNBC and CNN in the rear view mirror, and I started realizing that……our news is lying to us DAILY.  And it has not gotten any better.

And let me come clean on something; in my church we speak of lies and sins of commission as well as omission.  When it comes to the mainstream media, the traditional broadcast and print sources there is the obvious lies of commission (CNN seems to take special pride in that), and of omission (not telling all of the details needed to be well informed) and we can add to that lies of misleading (sorry….couldn’t find a rhyme for ‘-mission’).  I characterize lies of misleading simply as framing a news story, presenting it in such a way that supports a narrative.  If that narrative is Trump impeachment, Trump getting a draft deferment, the evil NRA….you name it; the media will cherry pick the stories, frame the stories in such a way that a low information consumer will not question or think past the story.  For example, Trump got deferments from the draft to not serve in Vietnam.  The deferments were legal, he was in school, and yes, his father did have pull.  The stories never mention that Bill Clinton avoided the draft because he was afraid that military service would damage his viability for high office in the nation he envisioned.  The stories say nothing of another liberal, Jimmy Carter, pardoning all the draft dodgers from Vietnam.  And……there is no mention of Congressman Blumenthal, a democrat, that just flat out lied about his own military service.  None of the factual parallels serve the narrative, are therefore left out, in an effort to mislead you.
Now, back to AOL.  I eventually left AOL for reasons known only to the arresting officer and sealed court records, and migrated to the other heavy hitter at the time, YAHOO.  Unlike AOL, YAHOO was free.
And trust me, you get, I get what you pay for.

Now, for all I know, YAHOO might own or be owned by the Huffington Post, or this marketing is THE worst case of media nepotism I have seen.  But my point is….if you want only ONE side of the “news”, if you want a side that supports your leftist views…..YAHOO is for you.  I would say that they might not realize their bias, but in this day and age that is simply not possible.  All of the MSM recognizes their socialist bent, the difference lies in which ones will be honest in their lies.

I think Yahoo would be honest that they are lying….but I doubt that they would call what they publish lies.

I gotta admit……I COMPLETELY missed the boat on this new law change, even if it is restricted to New York…you know it will poison the rest of the nation.

I failed to catch the constitutional proviso, at the federal or state level, that, when you are being booked for criminal behavior, you can dictate what you will wear and how you will present to the law, for your mugshot.  Completely escaped me and I am PRETTY well read on these sort of things…..not a scholar in the mold of Barrack Obama, but well read nonetheless.  As a matter of fact, as a young lieutenant I applied for and was accepted to the Army’s FLEP (Legal Education Program), but balked when I discovered that I actually had to SERVE as a lawyer.  I have the bug you see, but a bit too much pride.

There is something badly wrong, BADLY wrong, with a culture (what was once ours) that will force you to buy insurance that covers abortion, that will force you to pay taxes, some of which goes to planned parenthood and the PLO (or whatever that shit bag of losers are now known as), that forbids prayer at HS athletic events, that protects people that burn our flag, encourages people that curse our President, shoot up congressmen, refuses to enforce immigration (and other) laws, condemn those falsely accused of rape while electing demonstrable lechers to congress, fights tax cuts for anybody, forbids manger scenes or 10 Commandment monuments on courthouse grounds, and which has generally lost its’ way in following the death spiral of multi-culturalism……but will allow a muslim lawbreaker to dictate under threat of lawsuit, how she will present for a photograph because of how she “feels” without her hijab.

It is a damned shame she felt like breaking the law…..otherwise this would not be a problem.  And trust me….nobody with a brain gives a shit at how she “feels” when having her mug shot taken.

And let me be the first to assure you……a Catholic Sister would not have been accorded the same deference, nor would a male Orthodox Jew.

Isn’t that a good question?  You are born a man, or woman, and for time immemorial that is the way it was.  Yeah, society has always had its’ freaks, some far more than others, but they were never considered the norm….they were, until very recently, nutsacks, outcasts, as they should be.

But today, when we speak of “mental illness”, and the role it plays in some of the heinous shit that we perpetrate on each other in our society, like school shootings by idiots that think SOMEHOWights) killing the cheerleading squad is going to make them feel better, where IS societies’ grounds for evaluating that?  Put aside for the moment that the left will deny until their last breath that it is not the autonomous gun that is to blame, that if we only deprive the crazies of their gun we will have fixed the problem; that is immaterial (and the left knows it), it does not matter.  NOBODY thinks that someone that takes a gun into a school and one bad Rambo scene and a dozen or so bodies later, is NORMAL.

And I think the reason that the left doesn’t want to confront this, other than their thirst for power over their fellow man through taking away firearms (then free speech, religion and everything but the Miranda warning and abortion), is that they would ten have to refute, repudiate their own underpinnings.  It can’t be a problem of mental health, it must be a gun problem.

Because if it is a mental health problem, WHO among the left is to judge?

A bunch of women marching through the streets in vagina costumes?

A bunch of body painted homos’ parading for gay “rights”?

Two men suing people for everything they have and have built over a wedding cake that they can get anywhere?

Humans insisting that other humans can kill humans in the womb right up until it is born?

People making headlines protesting against OTHER peoples’ faith in God?

People supporting the Islamization of the nation with clear evidence of what the same does to the world?

Courts and a political party that INSIST on allowing anyone into this nation and then helping them subvert the nation?

People that don’t know what bathroom to use?  People afraid to TELL people what bathroom to use?

People on national television saying that others hearing God speak to them are crazy, or tweeting that Billy Graham should burn in hell?

People eating Tide Pods who are now courted by the media as policy experts?

I mean, this list is just a start, but exactly WHAT normal people can the left produce that would be arbiters’ of mental health?

I didn’t think so.

Must be the gun.

So, you are eighteen, you can vote, serve in the military, drive, NOT DRINK, and in most places not buy a gun in your own name.  You have to register for the draft, but there is virtually no way that you will be drafted in this country, giving our national cowardice and willingness to let others do the heavy lifting while you do whatever.  You have probably never held even a part time job, hell you have probably done nothing of note in high school; ROTC, sports, student government….that is stuff others do, not you.  You are likely an EXPERT on one or more of the popular gaming systems sold at Walmart, and probably don’t know your barber by name.  You most likely cannot use a chain saw, have never heard of the Federalist Papers, think that the founders enshrined a “right to privacy”, never rode in a car with window crank handles, never paid your own car insurance, never participated in scouting and most likely have no church affiliation.  There is a better than 95% chance that you will not vote until you have been out of school for a decade, and you almost certainly volunteer nowhere.

YOU, my friend, have come of age in the United States, gone through a rite of passage, inasmuch as we still have those.  In history, throughout the world, all tribal societies, and make no mistake, we are more tribal in this nation now than ever before, have had a “rite of passage” for young men, boys, to be a man.  But not in this nation…..you have turned eighteen; you are now officially a man.  There is no requirement for you to know shit about shit, and at that, many struggle to live up to THAT requirement.

And in most cases we as a society done exactly jack shit to prepare you for it.  

But that is okay…because today we don’t expect a whole hell of a lot from you.

But certain people will use you.  Right now you are being used like a common street whore, or a late night talk show host.  Last month you were watching “Jackass” on MTV, or taking selfies, or reading about the Kardashians over Big Macs, this month people are listening to your views, solemnly nodding as you impart your wisdom on gun control and the need for more and stronger laws.  You have gained this knowledge and expertise NOT because you had a kick ass civics instructor, because we both know to not even joke about THOSE odds, but because the people using you have, for no sound reason, granted you an expertise that you do not possess, and will probably never possess.  In this case the user is the propaganda machine in the nation, formerly know as the “free press” (that would be a forgotten Constitutional term…..and you probably don’t know WHERE in the Constitution it is found).  In this case, the used, or the “mark” is you.

You lucky, newly minted adult you.

BUT….before you go off to serve your new masters, you shiny new adult, let me pass this on to you.  If you haven’t discovered something by this point, allow me to share with you that some people and some institutions are not your friend.  The people that have mobilized you to harness your ignorance, the media, certain elements of the government….they are not your friend.  They confer nothing on you, they only take and they always return less than what they take.  For personal liberty, the ability to be free in your self and possessions and to live more or less undisturbed, our government as currently being exercised is your biggest threat; not the gun, but the government, and their henchmen, the media.

And they are using you.  And when they are finished with you, they will have no more use for you, your work will be of no more importance to them, and the fruits of your labor will have amounted to nothing, except one more opportunity for the government and the media to take one more thing from you, and return less.  You will be no safer.  And depending on the government to fix a problem implies that they can identify the problem, in this case of their own making, and they are not going to do that.

You are eighteen and ready or not, the “government” says you are an adult.

I think you should prove them right for once.
