No good deed shall go un-punished.

You want hear this from me very often, without sarcasm at least, but I love this story.

As you know, I live across the river from Saint Louis, a city that is RAPIDLY becoming the murder capital of the nation.  This is due, in large part, because both the county and city prosecutor refuse to do their jobs, preferring instead to ham string the cops in favor of the victim.  This is especially destructive because both prosecutors are black, and most of the murder victims are black.  I’ll be honest, I don’t get the nearly genocidal level of ignorance over there.  The northern part of the city and county is particularly bad for crime in general and murders in particular.  And it is sad….it really is, that modern society will put up with this.

But amid the chaos, you get a story like this.  A woman that, from her own pocket, and with some donations, provides snacks for 100 or more kids a day.  I find it disgraceful that something like this is needed, but I find it exceptional that someone notices and rises to the challenge.  This woman is in North County, which is a little less dangerous than Afghanistan, and does this on her own.

And listen, I do not understand hunger……Yes, I have been hungry to the extent that I wanted a hamburger, but true hunger I have never experienced; and I have been in some pretty shitty places in some pretty shitty conditions.  I think that, in this nation, if kids are going hungry, there is a MAJOR issue in the family.  We can blame it on whatever we want too, I know there are areas of inner city crapholes with no grocery stores (at some point they get tired of being shot up and move away), but if you have children and you let them go hungry, you need your ass handed to you, DAILY.  ESPECIALLY since our tax dollars now feed most kids two to three meals a day.  It should be an embarrassment to the city that this woman has the strength to pay out of her pocket for over 100 kids to have snacks after school.

But God Bless her.

But let me tell you what will happen, now that this story is public.

City officials will go to her house and shut her down.

Trust me.
