Well Delta.....what are you going to do now?

Aside from being a pain in the ass to fly on, Delta airlines is one hypocritical piece of work.  WHATEVER you feel about Delta, do NOT feel sorry for them for the ass crack they have gotten themselves into.  This past week the airline, Georgia’s largest employer, decided to do a little virtue signaling and sever ties with the NRA over the news media generated anti-gun crusade. Apparently Delta had a program of offering discounts to NRA members.  I have been an NRA member for a long time, before owning weapons myself, and I never new such a program existed.  Delta itself says in the article linked below that the program was defunct and that only about 13 people had ever taken advantage of the program.  So why make a public spectacle of discontinuing a program that even members didn’t know existed and only a dozen people ever used?

As I mentioned; virtue signaling.  Delta clearly decided that they could get some good will (and Lord knows my experience is that they need and can use it) by showing that they were “down with the cause” of anti-gun, anti-constitutional fever.  I get it; they figured it was a safe play, nothing lost, no blood no foul.

Delta, like most on the left, have misread this issue and the state legislature let them know that, stripping from a pending law a clause that gave Delta what amounted to a $40 million dollar tax break on their fuel taxes.  As one legislator said, companies need to realize that they can’t keep crapping on conservatives and not expect a little retaliation (okay, I paraphrased that, but you get the idea).  Delta said that the loss of the tax break will cost the company about $3 million per customer that used the discount.  Delta will pass that cost on to their passengers (including non-NRA members, so I want to be the first to thank YOU guys for sharing the burden that YOU caused) so they are not actually going to feel any pain.

But I think that Delta, in an effort to cover their asses over an issue that they created has made the problem worse.  The airline has launched a review of its’ relationship with all divisive groups.  NOW…..I wonder if that would include, actually include all divisive groups?  I doubt it, but I would love to be the NRA chief, and I would make Delta THIS offer.  WE (the NRA) will accept your rebuke without comment, let alone argument.  IN RETURN, you (Delta) renounce ANTIFA, Black Lives Matter, The Democrat Party, The Clinton Foundation, The EPA, the FCC, MOVEON.ORG, AMERICAN PROGRESS. ORG (and all related organizations), the HUFFINGTON POST, VOX.COM, OCCUPY DEMOCRAT, THE NYT and the all pervasive CNN, seen on monitors wherever Delta has a gate.

Sure, Delta does no business with them per se, in the form of discounts or incentives……but by their own admission, they do none with the NRA per se.  So, if they are going to review relationships with all divisive organizations, do it.  And if they are going to renounce all of those divisive organizations……

……do that too.  Or, they could shut the hell up and hope it blows over, kiss the Georgia legislatures ass for their $40 million tax break.  But if they are going to do what they say……..     

……I say do it.
